The documentary “Am Rand des Hauses: Leben und Schweben – Balkone”, produced by Arte and realized by Brigitte Kleine, is now available online. The Chair of History and Theory of Urban Design contributed its research documenting life on balconies during the coronavirus lockdown period, as well as a talk with Prof. Tom Avermaete on the typology of the balcony.

To celebrate the start of the Spring Semester, Sarah Whiting, Dean and Josep Lluís Sert Professor of Architecture at Harvard GSD, will give a lecture called “Spielraum & Öffentlicher Raum” on Wednesday February 21. The lecture will also mark the launch of a special issue of Architecture Philosophy, on the topic “Public Space – the Real and the Ideal”.
